This video presents a four spacecraft simulator assembly experiment. The relative navigation is performed employing the Adaptive Tracking technique. The guidance and control logic is independent from the navigation, and acts accordingly to the values received from the estimation system (reliable or not). The goal of this experiment is demonstrating robustness of relative navigation when tracking is implemented. The tracking methodology runs on each spacecraft and estimates the other spacecraft's maneuvers, in a completely symmetric fashion. This allows for precise relative navigation even in the event of low frequency relative sensors (2 seconds for this experiment) and random loss of measurements.
